DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship 2014 Application

The Department of Science and Technology-Science Education Institute released the details on the 2014 DOST-SEI Science and Technology Scholarships application for School Year 2014-2015.

Two types of scholarship categories are offered by the DOST-SEI.  RA 7687 scholarship is granted to qualified underprivileged, but deserving students, while the merit scholarship are offered to those deserving students, regardless of economic status.

Examination Fee:

• Php 200.00 (non-refundable)

DOST-SEI Scholarship Qualifications:

Merit Scholarship:

1. natural-born Filipino citizen;
2. belongs to the top five percent (5%) of the regular high school graduating class; or a member of the graduating class of a DOST-SEI identified or DepEd-recognized science high school;
3. of good moral character and in good health; and
4. qualifier of the 2014 S&T Scholarship Examination

RA 7687 Scholarship:

Above requirements plus

1. poor, talented and deserving student who belongs to a family whose socio-economic status does not exceed the set values of certain indicators;
2. resident of the municipality for the last 4 years as attested by the barangay;

Who are not qualified to apply:

1. those who have earned units in any post-secondary/undergraduate course;
2. those who have taken any previous DOST-SEI Scholarship Examination; and
3. those who have applied for immigrant status in the USA or any other country.

DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship 2014 Application Requirements:

Merit Scholarship

1. DOST-SEI Information Sheet (Form A)
2. Certificate of Good Moral Character (Form C)
3. Certification that applicant belongs to the upper 5%of graduating class (Form D1); or Certification that applicants belongs to the graduating class of DOST-SEI identified or DepEd recognized science high school (Form D2)
4. Statement of applicant that he/she has not taken any undergraduate or post secondary course (Form E)
5. Statement of parent that applicant has no pending application as immigrant to any other country (Form F)
6. Two recent (1”x1”) pictures
7. Photocopy of Birth Certificate

RA 7687 Scholarship:

Above requirements plus

1. Family Information Questionnaire (Form B)
2. Certificate of Residency (Form G)
3. 2012 Income Tax Return/W2/Employment Contract /BIR Cert. of Tax Exemption/Municipal/Brgy. Cert. of Non-employment.
4. 3 consecutive months of Electric Bill for 2013
