2. Follow Instructions

If they only want to talk to candidates with certain degrees or work experiences, don’t lie in your cover letter. What you see as “ambitious” or “pushing the envelope” might come across to hiring managers as self-important or not being able to comprehend instructions.
3. Dress to Impress
