The Coast Guard is considering setting fire to a large oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico to keep the mess away from shore as efforts to cap a spewing well fail.
The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico is expected to remain about 30 miles offshore, based on an analysis of ocean currents and weather patterns. In a statement Monday, the Coast Guard warned states along the Gulf Coast to be on alert.

Crews have been unable to stop thousands of barrels of oil from fouling gulf waters since an April 20 explosion sank the Deepwater Horizon, which was drilling 50 miles off the Louisiana coast.
The oil rig that burned and sank was drilling a well about 50 miles off the Louisiana coast, putting that state’s shoreline at the highest risk. Oil Spill Gulf of Mexico 2010

Well, the nightmare of the Florida oil desaster is actually a burning question. Your post is valuable contribution to this bloody oil desaster. One has to look at it in depth. In fact I do not concur with some small things all in all Im agreeing to your position. I am looking forward to future updates, which probably brings better ideas and terminates the oil desaster.
This oil disaster is one of the biggest problems which has ever been. I hope with the help of BP the most damage can be stopped.
This is not going to end up good, BP needs to step it up otherwise we should not let them drill in the US anymore. Simple as that, your fault, your cleanup…
