The Chief Minister of Indian provider Andhra Pradesh, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy (commonly known as YSR) has died in a helicopter crash.

The body of 60-year-old YSR, and his Special Secretary P Subramanyam were found on Rudrakonda Hill, 40 nautical miles east of New Dehli.

According to local reports, Andhra Pradesh finance minister K Rosaiah has been appointed caretaker CM.

The helicopter carrying YSR two of his staff and two pilots went missing in Wednesday morning. As LALATE reported earlier this morning, YSR went missing after depature from Hyderabad.

The leader’s helicopter departed at 8:30 am from Begumpet airport. YSR’s pilot remained in communication with air traffic control until at least 9:00 am. Once over Nallamalla forests, rain was detected, prompting the last contact with control at 9:12 am.
