Ashley “A.J.” Jewell, the fiance of Kandi Burruss, the newest cast member of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta”, was killed after receiving a severe head injury during a fight at The Body Tap Club in Atlanta.

Kandi Burruss is a former member of the 90’s R&B group Xscape.

Violence is not the answer!

If you watch Real Housewives of Atlanta, as I do, you’re familiar with singer/songwriter Kandi Burruss’ storyline: engaged to a man, AJ, who is lovable but not favored by Kandi’s mom because he has 6 children by 4 women. Her relationship becomes a hot topic on the web, whether it’s speculation about her fiance’s employment, or his worthiness as a mate. In real life, Kandi recently revealed that after taping the season, she and AJ split. But that she had taken on the role of guardian for AJ’s twin daughters.

Now Atlanta news outlets are reporting that AJ Jewell was fatally hit in the head, during an argument in the parking lot of Atlanta’s famous Body Tap stripclub. (AJ was allegedly promoting the event at the club)

The 33 year old singer, songwriter and businesswoman began dating Ashley A.J. Jewell of Atlanta in early 2009 and the couple became engaged to be married. In August, Burruss and Jewell called off the engagement and later ended their romantic relationship completely, though Jewell was quoted as saying they remained “good friends”. Though he moved out of Burruss’ home, she is the legal guardian of his 12-year-old twin daughters who remain in her care.

Atlanta Police Lt. Keith Meadows said, “It appears he was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and he received a severe blow to the head. We have developed a person of interest and we’ve made contact with him to question him about the incident. No arrests have yet been made in the case.

We don’t know if this is the real deal or not but we will put it out there for others to determine. Jewell reportedly ‘tweeted’ a few entries just prior to being murdered.
